Great video man, most attorneys/paralegals I worked under as a file clerk
told me not to go to law school and most of them appear to be depressed.
Note: these are the people that landed jobs telling me this…
I am thinking about going to Iowa law school i majored in philosophy and my
undergrad is all good and paid for. The tuition fee alone for Iowa Law is a
little under 30 thousand a year beings i am in state. It is also a top 50
law school. It seems like a great deal but i am wondering whether i will
get any career offers from the big cities rather than making less money at
a firm in boring old iowa. Just wanted an opinion from an experienced
attorney.
Well, I have yet to meet a Mattlock type of attorney. I had someone tell me
that I should be like the guy on Breaking Bad. Since I have not seen the
show, I could not tell you whether or not that would be a good idea.
Sometimes there are fun days and excitement. But, most of the time it is
just paperwork. If you want an exciting job, become a prosecutor on the US
and Mexico border.
I have three friends that went to Law School and they told me if they would
know what law school really is and what the job entails. They wouldn’t take
the time, money and effort to go to law school. This is not Law and Order
this is a job that entails long hours of research, writing and talking like
a someone who’s lost and need directions. And only 10% of lawyers with 20+
years practicing law are the one’s making a hundred thousand dollars a year.
is being a lawyer in Canada the same thing, because I am Canadian and
looking to become a lawyer in Canada? Although the economy is doing a lot
better over here.
i waved time for a year and a half. then they dropped 7 charges, and kept
one misdemeanor, so it should have been a year or less probation, because
like you said misdemeanors carry one year sentence
You can get any simple citable charge, parking, campfire, etc. but the
location in my case and all five citations occurred in the Angeles national
forest. I reached out to them prior to arraignment, and met with defenders
boss got an investigator assigned, took a trip to prospecting area with
atty and investigator, took photos. We also scanned Azusa tracking the guy
who was forced by forest cop into signing a bogus affidavit. I’m so glad I
had a smart lawyer.
In many other career choices, $40,000 a year would be great money. However,
law school is expensive. As was said in the video and also by a few
posters, the student loans from law school are enormous and they must be
repaid.
Here in the UK we spend 3 years doing our bachelor’s degree, before
specialising. We have barristers and solicitors, not attorneys like you
have in the states. After your bachelor’s degree to become a barrister you
have to spend a year doing the BPTC (£13,000), followed by a year doing a
pupillage under the supervision of a qualified barrister. To become a
solicitor you do your bachelor’s degree, then the LPC (£11,000), then 2
years working as a trainee. Much cheaper to qualify in the UK.
Wow, thank you so much. I am determined to become a lawyer. It is my grand
academic goal huge goal in my life. Is it too late for me to go to law
school? (24yrs old)I am currently getting a paralegal associates,but I want
to go to New York Law, but it is so expensive. Do you think CUNY law will
be better? Thank you again for this video.
OMG, that is horrible 10.00 a hour. I was wanting to see if I could go to
law school, but 150,000 a year and 10.00 wow buddy. The law field must be
flooded. Is this nationwide?

great respect for him and also the judges at the federal level.

Being a lawyer has its pros and cons. It may not be the easiest course but
the feeling of fulfillment that comes after it is indeed heartwarming.
