The DIY and enthusiast community has created invaluable resources for the
average Joe/Jane to at the very least research the problem. If your car is
making a noise or doing something you feel is incorrect, search online by
using a description followed by the year, make, and model. By being
equipped with more knowledge, you can protect yourself for people like
them. This doesn’t just happen in the automotive repair industry, this
happens in any industry that requires technical ability.
I sure do hate how a few crook mechanics make the rest of technicians look
like dirty bad people. As people say, It only takes a few bad apples to
ruin the whole bunch. I understand that people like me, need to make a
living off of fixing cars, but Im tired of people looking down on the
population of mechanics.
